Long Time No See!

Hey guys, it's been a while since our last update.... but finally it's here! Anyway, lot's of things has happened, but the biggest one would be the induction of a new member on our team, Mary Yu!!! Welcome to the AIESEC family Mary, and to team Project Echo! Secondly, we're in the planning process of our next learning event, so keep an eye out for updates on it.

I think I'll let Ace or Alv fill you in on the more random stuff that has been happening in Project Echo lately. For now, we're getting busy with environmental talks and meetings. Anyway, that's about it for me this time, cya!

Learning Event Postmortem One - Learning Points

Things to improve as said by the region

1.Keep the speakers to time.
2.Possibly have a bigger room, bigger discussion groups and better promotion.
3.More interactivity between the speakers and audience.
4.Run sessions on time and have PUNISHMENTS (=P) i love those... hehee
5.Have rules of enagement for all involved
6.Stratagize
7.Cover linkages between Aiesec and the project in more detail
8.More visual aids..with more presentations and facts
9.Project members to perhaps run a session
10.More prep for discussions (for project members)
11.Check out the movie someone pointed out we should!(before the next session)
12.Include a section on effects around the world.
13.More energizers
14.Advertise the next event starting this week!

Learning Event Success!!!

Yay!!! The first Project Echo learning event was awesome!!! Well done team, it was great to see that everything ran smoothly and that people that attended were getting into the whole issue! I know we've all put in a lot of effort in organising this event. Many thanks to Steb and Elana for giving us informative and insightful talks on climate change and what we can do to be more sustainable. We really look forward to working with you again in the future. Anyway, we have to keep up the good work we did for the other events to come! So everyone, please stay tuned for more info on our learning event series.

first day of uni...=(

hey everyone,
hows it going?!!.. yea uni started =(..
anyway we are all quite excited about the new semester coz we got lotsss of work piled up and there is always lesser motivation when you know the rest of the world is holidayinggg!
anyway the last meeting was quite interesting.. we called and fixed some meetings.. got some call backs and emails to do.. and yea we ate in the office for once..(uni food)!!!

today is our call day again.. hehe.. monday meetings are weirdd..a lil sleepy right now coz its quite early but yea we'll keep ya'all updated about what the teams upto!!

our eating sprees

hey peeps..

this isn't a "must do" post like my previous one.. just thought i would add some "fun" stuff to our lil blog
i just realized today.. on my way back from a project meeting with Alvin and Jono that there is this one thing which we all love doing when we have our important weekly meetings.. we love eating.. and i am not talking " a short break, a few bites" what i am talking are "detailed lunches.. outside university.. at specifically chosen spots.." could range anywhere from glen waverly to "hungry noodle".. yes i will remind you we do BUSINESS but we like our food.. we are willing to drive for a while to get the right flavaahh.. hehehe.. its bizzare but trust me for all those who havnt tried this sort of thing while working.. ITS A MUST DO.. you feel rejuvenated and ready to go!

neway, i really do hope to see a good number of ya'all showing up for the rockin' learning event in the city in july!! (if your lucky you might get to have lunch with the team in one of our carefully chosen spotsss!! =P)

Hi everyone!

Exam hell is finished now and we're just waiting for the dreaded RESULTS (AAAARRRRGGGHHH!!!!!!)

Still, that's in three weeks, and Project Echo's got some awesome stuff happening in the meantime and here is our invitation to you for our upcoming learning event:

Our planet has a fever..

The earth is warming up- and could continue to rise to 2 degrees over the pre-industrial temperatures. Doesn’t seem like much does it? But compare it to a fever: a small rise in temperatures can have dramatic effects. It means more droughts, floods and could result in one in four species on the planet becoming extinct… (could be humans!)

So Project Echo team URGES you all come to an extremely informative and enriching learning event on climate change running on the 13th of July from 11 am to 3 pm at RMIT Business Building, Bourke Street. We have two highly qualified speakers coming to the event to educate us on the basics of climate change and how it affects us all. Look out for our next email with more info and our climate change info pack. We hope to see you all there!

Update 6/6/06

Hello everyone, this is the second update on Project Echo, and since I don't know how to use a blog, am I suppose to create a new post or somehow stick it after Ace's last post? anyway.... this is a pretty overdue update that was supposed to be up last... or the week before... haha, but guess what? it's on the 6/6/06, the devil's number!!! argh!!!! well, it's not the end of the world yet, and we've got some good news for Project Echo.

First of all, we're planning for a learning event in mid July, after the National Conference. This will be on Climate Change, and we'll soon kick in our awesome advertising and promotion... that is of course after some of us are done with our exam hell... The good news is that both Alvin and I have been successful in inviting guest speakers! It was my first time too! I managed to not screw it up majorly and he was cool with this whole thing! Who is the speaker you ask? Well it's a secret we'll keep for now...

Anyway, that's about all I have to say for the moment... btw, Ace, called up your person yet? I have already! hahaha, it's your turn!!! alright, cya on the next update!

Its what we have been upto

Inspite of the exams being tantalizingly closeee Project Echo continues to echo (hehe)

The updates this week are as follows:

Firstly, the killer, well we raised..yeyyy!!..thanks to the persistent and determined efforts of the older members of our lovely team (and i think jono will join me in saying that).. Project Echo officially becomes the first PBOX in Australia to have raised an intern!.. well they deserve a bouquet of trimmed garden-fresh, sweet smelling roses ..hehe

Secondly, an extreamly educative PBOX session followed the traning day in the city. It helped us PBOX kids gain a better understanding of what it is we really strive to achieve. Also, getting to know all the people in Victoria who are working on similar or connected issues was both fun and informative.

Thirdly, the Project Echo team got to have a very well deserved session of "bonding" at a secret spot in the city (which btw u guys can keep trying to find..=P).. it involved us all going through 2 bottles of "cowboy" and telling each other why we were in this "thing" together and where we wanted to see ourselves at the end of the year. The fact was that everyone but Nick was a bit tipsy by the end of it .. all in all a real fun night!

fourtly, the new kids (myself and jono) succeeded in being made "April fools" in the month of May. The entire episode involved Alv&Nick making us call "big companies"only to find out we were talking to Aiesecers.. i should also mention here that the people who pretended to be these big companies should have been stars in Hollywood!.. we were so easily punkeddd that it took us ages till we could stop talking about it!

Lastly, from the entire project echo team we wish Alv a great trip to sydney!! We hope you come back refreshed even though we know you are there on business.. lol!!
